Virtually geographical boundries do not exist any more and the world has been converted into global village. With the changing environment the traditional method of doing business are not very effective. thus creating demand for more management professionals.
The Department of Business Management was created in the year 2005 with the objective to provide management skills to the candidate of the region and management professional to the industry to complete with the international companies. The Department offers two year full time master’s programme in management (MBA). The programme is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar.
The eligibilty for applying for admission to the post graduation pprogramme in business management (MBA) is a graduation degree in any stream from recognised university.
The programme :-
The program is divided into four semester. The first year, i.e, semester 1 & 2 of the program offers subjects which are compulsory to all students. Students have an option in the second year i.e, semester 3 & 4 to select the stream of specialisation such as: a. Super specialisation b. Major & Minor specialisation The student can opt from the following areas of specialisation: 1. Marketing Management 2. Financial Management 3. Human Resourse Management 4. Information Technology 5. Operational Management
The marketing management specialisation focuses on the different concepts and practises of marketing. The students are provided with the knowledge regarding retail management, rural marketing, consumer behaviour, advertisement. etc
