Automotive engineers design, develop and manufacture vehicles such as cars, motorbikes, buses and trucks and their engineering systems
For Regular Course : Qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination securing passing marks with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths from a recognized University or Board.
For Lateral Entry : Passed 3 year Diploma from recognized University or Board.
"The program is divided into eight semesters. The first year, i.e., semester 1 & 2 of the program offers subjects which are compulsory to all students (Physics, Chemistry, Math’s, Engineering Graphics and Design, English, Basic Electrical Engineering, Programming of Problem solving,) along with workshop practices. Students in the second year i.e., semester 3 & 4 introductory subject’s such as: Strength of Materials, Engineering Thermodynamics, Fluid machines and Mechanics, Machine drawing, Automotive Materials, manufacturing Process, Kinematics & theory of Machines, Heat Transfer and combustion, Automotive Electrical and Electronics system, Transport management and automobile industry, Environmental science. In The Third year, i.e., semester 5 & 6 specialized subjects like Vehicle Body Engineering, Automotive Transmission, Design of Automotive components, Measurements & Instrumentation, Computer aided Automotive Design, Automotive Heating ventilation and Air conditioning, Vehicle Dynamics, vehicle Safety Engineering, Tractor and Earth Moving machinery, Minor project. In The Fourth and last year, i.e., semester 7 & 8, particularity in 7th Semester some specialized subjects like Hydraulics & Pneumatics system for automobile, Vehicle maintenance and diagnostics, Automotive Electronics system, Human Resources Management, Major Project . In 8th semester students conduct the six month (industrial +Software training) program in field.
Automobile Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with designing, manufacturing and operating automobiles. It incorporate elements of mechanical, electrical, software and safety engineering as applied to design and manufacture buses, bikes, trucks and other vehicles and machines. The course in Automobile Engineering deals with the creation and maintenance of automobiles, starting from designing the vehicles to manufacturing components, assembling and testing them for safety.
